Chung Do Kwan
We teach the style of Chung Do Kwan, one of the recognized Korean styles of Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do is the study of self defense techniques including blocks, punches, kicks, breaks, and releases. Our club also fosters character building including self-confidence, discipline, empathy, integrity, perseverance, courtesy, self-control, indomitable spirit, and humility. We believe Tae Kwon Do is the art of self-defense, exercise, and a healthy way of life. Tae Kwon Do fosters growth of mind, body, and spirit in each individual.
History
Chung Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do was founded in 1944 in Seoul South Korea. This style of Tae Kwon Do is focused on mastering basics, developing powerful techniques and strong kicks, as well as an emphasis on respect. The most powerful techniques of this style are the side kick, jump side kick, and sliding side kick. All other kicks and techniques are viewed with importance and an emphasis is placed on the power of each technique.
